    i was told to stretch in the middle of your workout...after cardio and before weights

    you should stretch after you have done some cardio if you stretch BEFORE any type of exercise your muscles are tighter and more prone to injury. gillianpinder has teh right idea, a little cardio, stretch weights and then you can stretch again.

    Yup, you need to warm up your muscles before stretching. Never stretch cold muscles... well, if you do be very very careful, do not push them at all!

    And don't forget to always stretch after you workout during your cool down.
