I was recently diagnosed as diabetic... and am trying to really change how i eat and incorporting a lot of exercise along with that.
I am doing mostly lean meats and veggies, low carb. cutting out sodas. not frying ANYTHING. no fast food. I'm doing well with my eating habits and I do eat back my exercise calories.... but im just looking to add in a few "different" things and try some new ones!
Does anyone have a good recipe for a high protien shake - or a smoothie that won't make my sugars shoot up will but actually taste good? Im new to this - and ive never really made shakes/smoothies before. Im just thinking it would be easy to throw the stuff in the blender in the mornings while Im getting the kid ready for school and could drink on my way to work when I get tired of my normal breakfast foods... or even as a snack on the weekends when im home.
For those who make them - whats your favorite or your go-to? I guess I should also let you know I'm allergic to bananas
I have a latex allergy and something in bananas causes a reaction. I hate that too - because I LOVE bananas.
thanks in advance for your ideas/suggestions!
