Diet Supplements??

Let me start by saying that I am NOT looking for a magic pill. I have lost 60 lbs the good old fashion way of healthy eating and exercising. With that being said I was recently put on a new medication that made me gain quite a bit of weight. I know it was not the medicine itself that made me gain the weight but it changed my appetite. I was still eating healthy but I was craving sweets. SO....my intentions are to take supplements to curb my cravings and suppress my appetite for about a month. Just to see if it takes the edge off of my cravings. I still am going to eat healthy and continue to work out. I am not going to change my routine...but I need something to get me past the first few months of the sided effects (hunger, increased appetite) that my prescription meds give me. Any thoughts or idea would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Higher protein intake will make you feel fuller longer... same with fats. While you may have to watch total calorie count if you increase fat intake, protein won't really be a thing to worry about. I don't, by any means recommend cutting out carbs, since you should not really cut parts of your diet that you can't live without forever and carbs are good fuel for your body, carbs can make you feel hungry after eating them.

If you eat a higher amount of protein, or snack on healthy foods... fruits, veggies, nuts, etc. You should be able to curb your hunger pangs without having to resort to chemical means.

Protein is good at making the body feel like it's full. Personally, I also get this from fat just as much (unless it's followed by tons of stuff I can't pronounce). And exercise taken up a few more notches might help hit that tipping point where your body no longer is interested in downing all the calories it takes to maintain weight. If you go that route, eat more carbs - that's part of making sure you don't bonk.
