Recently I drank a Mr. Pibb and it was sugary sweet but still pretty good. Well today My husband surprised me by taking me out to lunch. Which I might add that I ate a reality healthy lunch. But because my husband doesn’t drink diet sodas he got a regular coke and I was almost excited about it because I figured it would taste so good. Well…BLECH. I took 2 sips. 0cal drinks and diets ruined my taste for my fave soda! Which in reality is a good thing but still. :drinker:

If you can stay away from ALL soda's I would really encourage it :)

please see attached link for aspartame side effects.

  • If I drink soda at all it is only regular soda. Aspartame is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad for you; much worse than sugar.
  • i know, i know. :indifferent

I have switched to flavored seltzer. 0 calories, 0 caffiene, 0 sugar. I love it, but I don't know if it counts to my water intake. Either way, if I feel like something bubbly, I go seltzer.
  • I am trying to reduce my intake of regular soda (I have a bad Coca-Cola habit). I never even considered going to diet sodas because I cannot stand the taste of artificial sweeteners (not to mention the bad effects they will have on you too).

I am also starting to drink the flavored seltzer water when I want something fizzy, much more enticing than just regular water. Just make sure you get the unsweetened kind or you might as well be drinking Diet Coke. :)

I'm the same with my tea and coffee, no soda at all for me anymore. If I use any sweetener, it's real sugar.

But I know what you mean. I'm using less and less sugar in my tea too. The super-sugary stuff just doesn't appeal to me anymore.

    It's great, isn't it? :)

I was drinking an insane amount of diet soda a month ago (figured it was better caloire wise) but decided in my trek to become (slowly) healthier that I would cut out sodas, the first few days-week was kinda rough I crave the soda, but now I don't even miss them. I drink alot of coffee and flavored water (add crystal light to it I dont' like the taste of water). I feel better and lost about an 1.5 inch from my waist and my mom says my face doesn't look as bloated. Though the feeling better is what I really noticed.

I know how you all feel about aspartame, so I will not divulge how much Coke Zero I consume. Let's just say I do not ever allow myself to run out. I NEED that caffeine.

That said, the other day I tasted a full-calorie Pepsi. It used to be my super-duper favorite but it didn't taste good to me at all. I even shared a sip with hubby and asked him...does this taste alright to you? It is funny how much my tastes have changed.
