Clean eating never worked for me. Counting calories has.

I love being held accountable for all that I eat, and every bit of exercise I do or don't do.
This is just a post about how amazing MFP has been for me. I used to be a "clean eater" and my god.. was it HARD. I lost 10 kgs on 2 separate occasions, only to put it all back on.. every little kg! I attempted to start the clean eating again more times than I can count.. and I couldn't get past day 3. Clean eating does NOT work for me. (It might work for some, and I am not knocking it). But personally, i need that treat when I want it or I will go ballistic and binge like a mad woman and throw in the towel on all forms of watching my weight until I am back to where I started! Then starts the cycle again...
MFP is the best thing I ever started taking seriously.. I feel like I can balance my food and exercise, and I don't feel like I'm depriving myself.. EVER. Of course I still try to eat as healthy as possible and watch my macros, but life like this is actually being LIVED as appose to struggling every single day and crying because "I JUST CAN'T HAVE THAT".
Thank you MFP! You make me feel like a normal person!!
Kudos to those who do clean eating of course and really appreciate it and it works for them. But I am OVER THE MOON that I have found another way to lose this weight and keep it off.

I am...clean eating is stupid lol0 -
I also tried clean eating and long term it didn't work. This time round I'm staying true to the foods I like and training myself in portion control! So far it's been great! I don't keep an open diary, but anyone can feel free to add me if they want fellow "dirty" eaters0

I agree with everything you've said! I love being able to pass the local Foster's Freeze and say to myself, "Yes, I can have that vanilla cone today because I've taken a 70-minute walk and ate a smaller lunch!" I feel free, haha!0
