When did you start seeing a difference?

Hi, everyone! I have been dieting and exercising for a month now and managed to lose 10 pounds :D I am 5 ft 2 in , 22 yrs old, and I and used to weigh 138. My goal is to weigh 115. I don't see a difference in my body. I measured my thighs, arms, stomach, hips, and ribs before I started, and the measurements are still the same. I know it takes a while to see results, and I am patiently waiting to see a thinner me. However, I was just wondering if there are women out there who are my height and started out weighing roughly as much as I did. How long did it take you to see a loss in body fat?

Oh my gosh, you and I are very similar! C:

I am 5'1" and 132 pounds at the moment. When I cleaned up my diet and did Hip Hop Abs every morning, I saw some small results one week after. It was very slight. I saw that my belly didn't look as "bloated" as before. Instead of something resembling a beer gut, it looked more like ... something softer? Haha, sorry for the imagery!

My first "real" difference I saw was about 1.5 months after I started and I noticed that my waist became more defined! It wasn't just a blob anymore. It's funny, because my measurement didn't change too much. I think it only decreased by half an inch.

Have you taken consistently lit before and after photos yet? Those really help you see your body's changes, even if they are subtle.

I can really relate to the "bloated" look haha. I did realize this morning that my stomach doesn't look like that anymore. It's just fluffy still. I have not taken before and after pictures. I know it's silly, but I really don't want to see how overweight I am...I see it enough in the mirror. Just for kicks, I wore my old favorite pair of jeans today. It was a struggle to button it before, and it used to be really tight on me that I couldn't sit without the jeans hurting me. Now they are much more comfortable. Still a little tight, but I can sit with them on no problem ^^

Oh, you mentioned something that would work well! Using clothes as a point of reference is super encouraging. C:

If you are feeling a bit better with your self-image now, it's not too late to start documenting the process visually. I was SUUUUUPER uncomfortable with confronting my before picture with the gut. I couldn't stand seeing either (I never had one that big before). Usually, I'd be sucking it in to flatten out and even lie to myself by saying that I still had a flat stomach (at 141 pounds!).

Even if I am still overweight, I feel a much better sense of self-esteem and confidence because I know that my old belly was my low point. On bad days, I look back at that picture and say to myself that I am not that person anymore.
  • It could be worse. I've been at it for three weeks and though I didn't set an aggressive plan to lose my unwanted 20 pounds, I should have lost at least a pound or two ... but have gained instead.

I will NOT worry about it, though it would be nice to have the extra motivation from an early success.
