Exercise plateau?

Hi all,
Lost 40 lbs since January, started exercising 3 weeks ago and I have not lost a lb since- I am hoping I am gaining muscle and al of a sudden I will drop 10 lbs. Any body have this happen?

When you start a new exercise routine, your muscles tend to hold onto water in the first few weeks. Once your body is used to it, you'll see the scale moving again. Also exercise builds muscle and, while you probably aren't seeing muscle weight right now, it will probably slow your weightloss a bit. It's a good thing though, muscle burns more calories at rest than fat0

Muscle ways more than fat, so my guess is you're building lean muscle... its the inches your going to notice the biggest drop in!0
