McDonalds and weight loss!

Guys just want to help some people out and say that sometime treating yourselves to a Mcdonalds, KFC, Nandos whatever fast food you may like is actually a good thing and does not need to be seen as something to fear.
For all the dieting/lifting people, its necessary to have one big meal every now and again to restore your bodies natural leptin levels and allow you to shred off more weight in the long run, some people can restore this by eating healthy and having a re-feed day.

Leptin: Leptin is a hormone produced by the fat cells in your body. The word leptin comes from the Greek word Leptos (meaning thin). The amount of leptin released from those fat cells is dependent upon how much fat there actually is. Basically, more fat results in the release of more leptin. Leptin essentially controls your metabolism, hunger, and energy expenditure. A leptin system that is working properly improves brain fitness, mental sharpness, leads to better memory, and enhances mood.

If you diet for a long time with a high calorie deficit your Leptin levels decrease and actually hinder your weight loss progress.
So work your fast food into your macronutrients on your MFP, don't threat as you'll still lose weight if you stay within your calories and macronutrients. But just to make clear, i'm not saying to eat fast food daily as this would be unhealthy, just treat yourself accordingly, chill out, enjoy life a little.

I can eat fast food and fit it into my calorie deficit if I want to. Why does everyone treat fast food like it's the worst thing on the planet?

Yeah... this. And it doesn't even have to be a "big meal".

This exactly! I am a sucker for a McDonalds quarter pounder with cheese. I have always had McDonalds once a month as a treat since I was a kid. That continues now!

Like those Fedex commercial say "if it fits, it ships." That's how our macros and micros work, if it fits, we eats. As long as it fits into your dietary budget without going over it's okay to eat!

And I'm not sure which type of adipocyte actually contains leptin.

Wendy's Ultimate Chicken Grill is a life saver for me when I'm working late hours and have nothing to cook at home.
