No weight loss

I started myfitnesspal 5 weeks ago. I also started doing zumba 6 times a week. The first week I lost 5 lbs. The second week 3 pounds. Then for the last three weeks I have weighed the exact same. Last week I incorporated piloxing instead of Zumba a couple times in the week. I am tired and my body hurts, but I don't see any results. I have set my goal to lose 2 pounds a week and nothing. This is getting really discouraging and I don't know what to do. I include everything in my calorie count any little bite I take during the day and have been way more particular about what I eat. Please have some suggestions

Hey good job!
Unfortunately we all reach a plateau do to the fact that our bodies tend to get used to our daily activities and diets, so you need to break that cycle and do what we call shock the body! now everyone has their way of doing it and there are a few ways you can do it and obviously you added more exercise to your routine which is one of the options! I'm not a professional by any means so with that in mind i would suggest tweaking your diet! the other option is called carbing out or re feeding but i would do those later on down the road! i would need your stats and what myfitnesspal has you at in regards to calories, protein, carbs and fat! With a few weeks in, its probably not a plateau. You've lost 8 pounds in 5 weeks. That is awesome. Sometimes the scale doesn't move as much as we want. Could be stress, hormones, sodium, etc. Do you weigh all food you eat, log all your liquid calories as well?
For women, the menstrual cycle can wreak havoc as hormones, water weight, etc. all work to mask weight loss results. For me, that means I can easily go 2 weeks without a loss and might even see a gain according to the scale. If you're eating enough to fuel your body but confident you're eating at a deficit, then just keep doing as you're doing. Give it a few more weeks and the will likely catch up in the near future.
In the meantime, take measurements and check them again in a few weeks as well.0 -
Ps-for 24 pounds left to lose, unless this is a short term goal and you have much more to lose overall, 2 pounds per week is very aggressive and may not be the best idea. Its not impossible, but even 'success' can come with consequences such as a high level of muscle loss. Which in turn makes it harder for you to lose or even maintain because your metabolism suffers.
A 1 pound per week goal would expand your nutrition options.0 -

You could also be retaining glycogen/water weight, it happens from over-expending your muscles and adopting a new exercise routine. Your body is trying to adequately repair itself so it's holing onto what it needs to to repair your muscles properly.
Once your body adjusts you should start seeing a loss again, but how your clothes fit and your measurements are more important than the scale.0 -
So as for more information I am at a 1200 calorie diet. (150g carbs, 60g protein and 40g fat) I weighed 171 when I started. I am logging my exercise calories and eating about 3/4 of those calories to all of them. (I love food, I am a chef, and work out really more so that I can eat so I am getting enough calories, that is not a problem.) I am weighing and measuring and logging everything even small bites. I have had 4 kids in 5 years and my baby is turning 2 so I realized that it is time to get off the 10 pounds I gained with each child. I drink 8-12 glasses of water a day. Oh and my information is a little jaded because I first signed up in November with an estimated weight, but didn't really start until march, so I have lost more than the 2 pounds, but do have 24 left to go. (realistically I would like 35, but I shot a little lower and thought I would adjust later)0
