How to drop the water weight

I seem to be retaining water I've been dieting and working out for almost a month. I can't drop the water weight at all. When I noticed the swelling I started drinking a lot of water everyday, but I'm still retaining it. Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do. I've e tried eating foods to help but nothing. Please any suggestions would be great!

What is your sodium intake? Are you eating a lot of processed foods? Too much sodium is a huge contributor to retaining water and water weight.

I've cut back a lot when it comes to my sodium intake. That's why I don't understand why I can't get rid of it. Between lessening my sodium intake, and drinking so much water I figured it would be easy to drop the water.

Without more specific info (daily sodium intake, water intake, total calories, TDEE, BMR, workouts), it is difficult to offer any specific suggestions/solutions.

Also, at 5'7" and 170lbs (goal of 150lbs), you are close to your goal weight, so weight loss will be slow.

As weird as it may sound, drink more water. May retain more water at first, but as you drink more water it'll pull out the sodium from your system and flush it out thus helping you lose water weight.

Also, look into Dieter's Edema/Whoosh Effects (there may be a couple threads on MFP floating around on the topic)

You can eat food that has a diuretic effect (losing water) .. i.e. watermelon. Coconut is supposed to be diuretic too. There is more but thats all i can think of right now.
