Insanity and knees

I had a knee injury two years ago from skiing. No surgery but MRI shows damaged meniscus. I am thinking doing insanity and now I have read that it is quite knee intense.

Is there a way to do the exercises without putting too much pressure on my knees?

Thanks for your help!

Stef.

I would keep away from insanity if you have bad knees... Yes, you can modify, but then you're not getting the full benefit of the workouts...

You have bad knees. It's a program that revolves around constant jumping that's called INSANITY. Look for something else to do

I sympathize totally - I have really bad knees, bad back, etc - lots of old injuries. It's a pain (in more ways than one) finding something that's safe and won't get me injured while still getting the intensity up.

I do have a friend in Florida who does Insanity workouts...in her pool. Less wear and tear on the knees (obviously has to do less/slower reps to account for the water resistance).

I would talk to your doctor. They might say it's okay with proper bracing/shoe wear. But my guess is the constant pounding of Insanity wouldn't be a good idea :ohwell:

:flowerforyou: Good luck...hang in there. You'll find something you enjoy.
