Finally on the right track

Hello Everyone-

I'm a ER nurse that works night shift only, almost 40 years old, and *sort-of* new to MFP

I *never* post on these message boards, but since so many "I never" things are finally working...

I was a very fit kid and young adult- I played multiple sports, ran 10K's, century rides. Then my lifestyle changed (mostly for the better) but my fitness declined and the weight crept up.

My baseline activity level is good - I log more than 14,000 steps in a shift. On days that I'm off, I still manage around 10,000.

But my eating...whoa, nelly, it was incredible how much I ate. Weight watchers didn't work for me since I could easily gork out on zero points foods. My friend told me to join and track on MFP. It took me a while but I'm getting the hang of it.

And I'm being gentler on myself. If I eat poorly a day or two, I haven't thrown in the towel like before. I just keep on moving. It's working!

So hello :-)
