protein issues?

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to add more protein to my diet- the natural kind not from shakes, smoothies, bars or anything else like that. However, I am running into a problem with it because today I had waffles with peanut butter, and a cup of pineapple and my stomach is still growling! :( I don't understand why I am still feeling hungry, it's like this everyday. Could it be that I drink my caffeine first thing in the morning and maybe that's what's making me still hungry. Thanks for the suggestions.

Try eating it within 30 minutes of waking up. I do this w/ my egg whites, then move onto my oatmeal and coffee. If I don't do this (I eat around 7:15am), then I am starving by 10am. Also, I always drink 2 big glasses first thing before I eat anything! This also helps, its (almost) better than coffee!! If breakfast is done and its too early for my snack and I'm having a food craving I will try and knock it out w/ a hot cup of herbal tea. It makes my tummy happy and helps me hold off until its time to eat again. Good luck!

How much peanut butter did you eat? How much protein was in the peanut butter. For my 1200-1500 calories a day, I find I need to eat at least about 20 grams of protein at breakfast. If I want to meet the goal of 60 gm of protein a day, I think about it like this:
    Breakfast 20gm
    Snack 10 gm
    Lunch 20 gm
    Snack 10gm
    Dinner 20gm
    Snack 10gm

Since you don't like eggs, eat chicken breast, turkey breast, pork tenderloin - all good lean sources of protein without being a cold cut packed w/ sodium

Do you like Greek yogurt? That would bump up your protein.
