Will I still lose weight if I'm not buried

Apologies for the title, i accidentally pressed enter! It was meant to be: will I still lose weight if I'm not burning as many calories?
So I've decided to try high intensity interval training but I get tired much faster. In a work out I don't burn as many calories (cycling as fast as I can for 5 mins then slowing for 2 and repeat). I'm not burning as many calories as when I did a steady pace on the stationary bike for an hour a day. Will I still lose weight?

Are you taking in fewer calories than you're using? If you are you'll lose weight, regardless of what exercise you're doing.0

Increasing your intensity should help improve your fitness. Your body gets used to endurance exercise so you may well be doing yourself a favour burnwise.0

Yes I am at 178lb I eat 1200 calories a day. I'm just wantin to know if it will be as effective or if I should go back to what I was doing before?0

Your title is intriguing... lol.
I've only read good things about interval training. It stimulates your metabolism even after your workout, so you're still burning calories well after your finished. It also helps speed up your recovery.

Ditto that HIIT is a good thing.
There are different intervals you can use; one I've done is 20 seconds highest intensity/40 secs low intensity. Having short intervals might make it easier for you to go a bit longer, though I think 20 mins or so of HIIT is usually considered a complete workout. (Don't quote me on that. )0
