Apple Pie Oatmeal
I wanted to share this with everyone. I've been making apple pie oatmeal for breakfast, especially on days when I know I'm not going to be able to eat lunch until later. It's really filling and definitely good when I want something sweet for breakfast.
Apple Pie Oatmeal (365 Calories)
- Ingredients:
o ½ Cup Oatmeal (Quaker 1-minute)
o 1 Apple (I use granny smith)
o Nutmeg (to taste) (mccormick)
o Cinnamon (to taste) (great value)
o ¼ Cup Water
o ½ Cup Milk (I used 1%) (swiss)
o ½ tablespoon butter (not margarine) (land o lakes)
o 2 teaspoons Brown Sugar (I used dark) (domino)
- Instructions:
o Core and remove skin from apple, dice into chunks (I did small ones)
o Melt the butter in the pan on medium heat
o Add the brown sugar and apples, sauté them.
o Add the nutmeg and cinnamon to taste
o Heat the apples and stir them until they are a soft consistency that you like
o Add the milk, water, then the oats.
o Boil for 1-2 minutes stirring occasionally.
o Enjoy!
*You can add all milk or all water depending on your taste. You can also add more. This is a thicker version of oatmeal and makes 1 Serving.

Sounds good! I do something kind of similar....I slice an apple put it in a little oven safe dish, sprinkle with maple brown sugar oatmeal, dab the top with 1 tsp of butter, and bake for about 10 min. It is soooo good. This is normally my evening snack when I need a sweet fix.0
