Veggie Soup Saves Me!
When I get hungry and know that I don't have very many calories left I have a bowl of my standby soup to fill me up with little damage to my caloric intake. Not to mention its just delicious!!
Good Low Cal Veggie Soup Recipe:
2 peeled and sliced potatoes
1 bag of frozen green beans
1 bag of frozen carrots
1 medium size head of cabbage chopped
1 small onion chopped
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 large can of crushed tomatoes
2 cans of low sodium chicken broth
3 stalks of celery chopped
pepper and garlic powder
place all contents in large pot, cabbage first, and bring to simmer
let cook until veggies are tender season with pepper and garlic to your own taste but skip the salt
This is only about 140 calories a serving and the recipe makes 8 servings. Omit the potatoes if you want a low-carb soup. You can add in some shredded chicken or some beans to bump up protein and calories if you'd like Enjoy!

I have been buying Dr. McDougall's Low-Sodium vegetable soup for quick lunches at work - it's only 120 calories for one container - but prefer to make things homemade when possible...think I will try making this tomorrow so I have it for the week.0 -
That's what I do. I try to keep a pot of this and chicken broth with veggies in my fridge. It keeps me from reaching for something unhealthy when I am in a hurry or well just feeling lazy lol I like it and it packs in a lot of veggies plus keeps you full.0

Love making this! You are so right, it is so low in calories and will fill you right up! And of course tastes great...I like to add lima or kidney beans for some protein and plenty of spinach and sweet potato. The Rachel Ray organic vegetable stock in good also.0
