hi, this morning (easter) i was running my usual route, i ran on the sidewalk, i didn't cross the street, i wasn't in the road at all, or in the way of any cars at all. and the neighborhood is very low key, one or two cars passing by every 20 to 30 minutes. i was running, and then this car, that i have never seen before, slowed down next to me (it was a girl about my age 20-25) and she looked me dead in the eyes, and stuck out her finger, driving off with her finger out the window, all the way down the hill, :indifferent: what in the world did i do to get that kind of treatment? thanks.

It's a power thing.
Try no to let it get to you. Harassment is just an easy, cowardly thing for people to do. I'm lucky I live in a neighborhood with a ton of cops.0 -
Her giving you the finger is about her mental attitude not yours. Don't worry about it and great job running.0

Maybe you were far more beautiful, fit and awesome than her and her tiny brain couldn't cope!0

Hahaha, that's hilarious. You must be really super hot to have gotten to her so bad!0

Haha I know I saw her stats in a previous thread. Tall and super thin and exercising when everyone is getting ready to stuff their faces silly and get even fatter. I might have given her the finger, too!! Er... Really. No0 -

The best response to getting the finger is to smile and blow her or him a kiss.0 -
Maybe she thought you were someone else.0

Some people are just like that. It says everything about them and has nothing to do with you....at all.
This happened to me once; I smiled and blew the guy a kiss and he got really angry.....lol.0 -

she's jealous because you're fabulous0

You didnt do anything. People like that are just........mad! :noway:0

She was saying you are number "one". Or you stand out above the rest. There's one other possibility but it is a bit crude to post here. Whatever the reason, you rock!0

I'd get stuff like that when I was cycling but I assumed it was because they were jealous of my ripped legs.
I'd assume the same if I was you. She was just jealous you're getting fit and she's not.0 -
I get this every now and again. It normally means that the finger giving person thinks I've cut them off at a light or something when in reality they were supposed to stop at that right on red or where ever we ran into each other.....people are nuts. Ignore them as long as they are only shoving the finger at you or yelling!
You are fabulous for running, keep it up!!!0 -
I had an egg thrown at me once...
I figure people will do whatever they think they can get away with. They feel safe in their cars (or behind their computer screens). Next time I'd probably try and note their license plate and land them with an assault charge, just to make a point (hey, one does not throw objects at people). But then, how often is that going to happen in one lifetime?0 -

Nah, I saw something white flying, but didn't make the connection to the goopy stuff on my shoe before they were well down the road...
I guess if they had hit 'better' I would have noticed sooner
I mean, seriously, I did so not expect it. But yeah, I can be a bit slow...0 -
HAHAHAA That's hilarious?!! Definitely jealousy! There is no other possible reason?0
