Rest days - advice appreciated

I work 4 days a week, my favourite exercise is cycling. Because of family commitments I can only get out on my bike on my 3 days off (sat/sun/mon) is it ok to exercise for those 3 days then rest 4 days or would I be better trying to fit something into those 4 rest days to keep my progress up? Would it make much difference?

    What are your goals?

    There are many things you can do to compliment your cycling. Weight training, or swimming...

    Watch out, you'll want to do a triathlon before you know it.

    It's good to rest once a week completely.

    It's good to rest once every few weeks for few days.

    Check out Joe Friel's cycling training books, he's an authority on cycling and triathlon training.
