So for a couple years I think I have been dieting and just watching what I eat... I lost quite a bit of weight not sure exactly how much but I think I was up near 170!! I'm only 5'2 !! Anyways now I am sitting at 133 which is alot better but I was at 126.8 not too long ago I can't seem to keep on track! It's vey frustrating I did have a really good system where I got to choose what I ate at every meal now I moved with my grandma where meals together are very important and meals are not healthy by any means not only that I have no idea what I am going to eat for supper so it's hard for me to know what to eat the rest of the day...how can I keep motivated and not get discouraged?

I know what it is like where you have to comprise your meals. How about talking with your grandma about your goals, and seeing if you can help her out with the meals?

I suggest the same. Talk with Grandma and offer to help with meal preparation. Plus if it is something not quite so healthy try Portion control? For motivation....Just remember how much better you feel when you are thinner.

i agree with talking with your grandma but also try saying you'll make a side salad for dinner (or dinner every few days) and load it up on your plate then have a smaller portion of dinner. also consider what you are eating earlier in the day and see if there is room for any adjustments that can be made. also is there time in your day to add extra cardio to burn off grandma's dinners?
i dunno how your grandma is but with mine i find it easier to change me then her. you don't mess with my grams

It is hard to feed two different appetites with one meal. My husband preffers "man food" (meat & potatoes). Your grandma my have a life time of comfort foods and habit. (my favorite being keeping bacon fat for cooking). If she does cooking she might be sensitive about you not feeling her food isn't healthy. a touchy situation. But if you offer to cook a couple of times a week and if you add a soup or salad to every meal and concentrate on eating more of the healthy option and samplings of the less healthy. Often I find if my husband cooks I develope a liking for the heavey comfort foods so I try to drink lots of tea before dinner or have a yogurt of something to fill me up first. CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss. It's nice to know it is possible and maintainable.
