T25/Insanity Rest Days

Hey Everyone,

I'm new to this whole T25/Insanity fitness world.

So basically, I did T25 alone for the first week and then when I got to rest day, in a weird way, I missed the workout. So I started doing a random workout on rest day (but it was a workout that I wasn't going to do on Monday or Tuesday of that week so that that muscle group can relax).

My question is: Do I need the rest day? Like if I don't rest, will it make it harder for me to lose weight?

I figure it's calories in and calories out. But the thing with T25 is that it works a lot on muscles so I figure you burn afterwards as well?

Currently, I am on week 3 of T25 and I realize that I am not getting the results that I want (Currently, I burn about 200-300 calories with one workout of T25). So I added Insanity to the mix. Now I do insanity in the morning (burns about 400-500 calories) and then T25 at mid-day. I have only done this for two days so far. But I'm wondering if this will impede my results? Or if this is okay?

Thank you!

Hello, I'm relatively new to working out seriously on a daily basis, but what I've read so far is that - yes, you do need your rest days. Rest days is when your muscles get to rest and repair themselves. Overworking them might have a negative result in the end that most often include injuries. And a serious muscle injury might stall you for months.

So, be careful. Especially with the high intensity programs like T25 and Body Revolution and all the others out there. If they've included a rest day then you need the rest day - trust the specialist who have created those programs.

Insanity is pretty hard core, I don't think you need to do that and something else in the same day, unless you're training for a particular endurance event?

Rest days are very important as they're the days when all of the hard work you've been doing with your workouts gets a chance to, well, WORK! Not to mention T25 was made the way it was for a reason, they didn't just randomly put workouts together. It's created as a system. If you're doing the workouts AND following the nutrition guide, there's no reason to add another workout in if you don't want to. That being said, there are no rules to say you CAN'T add another workout into the mix but I may be a bit wary of throwing in Insanity due to how extreme it is. You may want to add a less intense workout program.

If you're following the fitness guide and nutrition plan to a T and you're STILL not seeing results then you may want to revisit your program.

Feel free to add me! :)
