I went way over on my sodium intake yesterday evening. I noticed a 2.4 pound gain on the scale this morning. I know that this isn't "weight" gain but water retention. I've been drinking a ridiculous amount of water today to try to flush. How long will it take to get rid of the extra water pounds?

For me, it can take a few days (2-4). Potassium-rich foods can also help with water retention, such as bananas, cantaloupe, citrus fruit, etc.0

A few days and it will level out. Just keep up with the water.0
