Difference between Apps for calories burned.

I'm a month into my weight loss/fitness program, and I've been following my recommended calories almost religiously. And also logging my exercise to obtain a net calorie count. In the past I had logged my bike rides on another site, so I just picked up with them again. I've been transferring the calories burned onto MFP, since they don't sync. I looked into using a site that does sync with MFP, but was astounded to see that for the same bike ride, they gave me credit for approximately half of what my other site does. How can that be??? I'm trying to stick to my calories needed even if it means eating more than I want. And it's working. But now I'm afraid that I'm taking credit for too many calories burned, and I'll halt my weight loss. Suggestions?

I think your best bet is to get a heart rate monitor because it will give you a number of calories burned based on your actual heart rate. They are not 100% accurate, but much better than the apps. I think they are worth the investment particularly because you are relying on being able to eat some of the exercise calories back.0
