I recently started MFP. Since, it has been almost a week since I started I checked out the reports in great detail. I am very low on protein and calcium. I do eat fish chicken and some lean beef. But a 4oz serving is not cutting it. Any suggestions on how I can increase protein and calcium intake without potentially going over caloric intake will be appreciated.

Dairy. Greek yogurt. Eggs. Meat. Fish. Beans. Nuts & Seeds. Try to get Protein, Carbs & Fats in every meal.

If you can't fit it in with food, you can use supplements. Protein powder or protein bars, and a calcium supplement in pill form.

I think the simplest answer to this is dairy! Greek yogurt, milk, froyo, cheese. There are nonfat versions of all of these that should help keep you in your calorie numbers.

A more interesting suggestion: take a look at your fruits and veggies. Broccoli surprised me in that it has 1g protein per every 10 calories, and I think it has a fair bit of calcium too. You can google lists of fruits/veggies/meats/cheeses/etc that are highest in protein and calcium and make little changes.

If all else fails, you can always supplement your diet with the things you lack. A multivitamin is a good idea on a low-calorie diet.
