pan fried sweet potatoes

are they still healthy when you pan fry them?

    I love sweet potatoes. Never heard to cook them that way but I would think If you use cooking spray (Pam) adds no calories so that would be good..

    If you are watching your weight, just keep oil down to a minimum. An oil sprayer is a useful tool, as well as a non stick or tempered cast iron pan. Don't forget to log the oil used in cooking.

    Yes, of course. I pan fry mine with onion and pepper quite often.

    They're easy and tasty when done in a pan (See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IvB01nQ3ss for cooking ideas). I'd ditch the Pam and other oils - stick with good old butter and just account for it in your daily calories.

    I made some of these the other night and I tried to just use a tsp of olive oil to keep them healthy. I used a nonstick pan so they didn't stick and they cooked through fine, but even though they browned they never really got crispy. I do think you need to use a decent amount of oil/butter to get them crispy, if that's what you're after.
