Anyone else have period issues while dieting? Last month I was 6 days late (39 vs. 33) and this month still waiting at 42 days (though I did have some very minor spotting yesterday).
I'm 27, 5'3.5", 157, so not menopausal (I don't think), not underweight, not under BF% (prob 35-40%).
I'm definitely NOT pregnant.
I thought it was thyroid related (i'm hypo but have had issues with swinging wildly), so I got tested again last month including regular CBC. Everything came back normal.
Calorie-wise I was low, 1411 net over the first 6 weeks, but the last 7 I've been closer to 1650 net (mainly b/c I generally felt unwell at 1411 net). I've mostly felt fine since the switch.
I did work out before last month's, but the last month I've only been to the gym once.
Anyone? Freaking out a bit.

I started 6 weeks ago so I've had 1 TOM so far....and it was 6 days EARLY!!!!:grumble:
I'm usually a 33-34 day cycle, and expecting my next period in 2-3 days so my body seems to have adjusted.
I asked my MFP lady friends and they assured me it was normal for my TOM to be off with starting a healthy lifestyle....I has no other concerning issues, so I think it was ok.
I don't know if that helps you, but TOM issues seem to be semi-normal for people starting out.0 -
If I'm not on birth control, I ALWAYS have period issues. I think my body's natural cycle is longer than it's supposed to be (by like 2-3 weeks?!) and I'm like 80% sure that when I go off birth control and decide to conceive, I will become pregnant with twins. My body just kind of likes to double up on it.
Diet and exercise changes can affect these things, even if you're not going totally overboard. It's good that you raised your calories. You weren't feeling well and it clearly wasn't working for you at those levels, so that may have caused the issues and they're just not entirely resolved yet.0 -
Okay, 42 days. idk, guess it's okay. I'm going to wait and see about next month.0

I'm older but my period got shorter, lighter and closer together. The closer together is kind of a pain! I also gain at least 5 lbs of water weight.0
