No weight loss?

I eat 1,200 -1,400 depending on day (Easter threw me off) I exercise with Jillian Michaels DVDS and I do one or two of them a day (30 or 60 mins total). I have no have any weight loss.:brokenheart:
I am 5'9" and weigh 160, I really want to get down to 135 by August and this is really discouraging me and i dont feel like trying anymore.
Has anyone have this problem? I eat alot of carbs and sugars but also protein and veggies, I also drink alot of water. Is it the carbs. Thanks .

Do you weigh your food with a digital food scale? Also, you'll need to open your diary so we can help.

We need more information to be able to help you.

Are you currently logging your food?

Would you be comfortable opening your diary for us?

How many calories are you eating?

How are you measuring your portion sizes? Are you using a food scale, measuring cups/spoons, or eyeballing your portion sizes?

Are you eating back any of your earned exercise calories?

If so, what method are you using to estimate your calories burned? MFP, gym machine estimates, or a heart rate monitor?

How long has it been since you last saw a drop on the scale?

There are a bunch of reasons that you may not be losing weight. Try to get rid of the refined carbs and sugars. They can hinder your weight loss. Check out this blog that a buddy of mine wrote.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Number one question I have before I can answer is how long have you been doing this for? This being paying attention to calories and doing regular exercise.
  • I am logging my food, but up until now on a different site, Livestrong, MyPlate so I cannot open my diary for you
I have been doing this for three weeks
I have 1,200-1,400 (depends on day)
I do not use a scale
and for the first two weeks I did but this week I havent been eating my calories back
I havent seen any drop on a scale and I am in the process of having a heart rate monitor sent to my house.

Since you're already in a healthy weight range, your loss is going to be slow. You're looking at 1/2 to 1 pound per week maximum right now. And since you're just starting out you're very likely to be retaining some water in your muscles due to the increased exercise. It's not uncommon for this to mask any weight loss that's happening in the early stages of a new exercise routine.

Double check your goals, make sure that your logging is accurate, and get plenty of fluids.

These are three really great posts that I think anyone new to the boards should read:

"I have been doing this for three weeks"

...and there is your problem. 3 weeks isn't enough time to see weight loss over your bodies normal weight fluctuations due to water retention. You have to wait longer, at least 6 weeks probably 2 months before you can see weight loss on a scale.
