okay so my parents recently bought a punching bag and i was wondering does boxing count as strength training?

okay so my parents recently bought a punching bag and i was wondering does boxing count as strength training?
It does develop muscle strength and conditioning, but it's not the same as a resistance training for strength (weights, bodyweight). Also, the type of bag will make a difference with the kind of resistance you'll get, and the type of "work" you do on the bag.
With that said, bag work has many many benefits. Strength, conditioning, core stability, cardio vascular, self defense, coordination, stress relief.0
