I have heard on here a few time that heavy lifting helps to tone you up but I have only used dumb bells and kettle bells up to now. The biggest weights I have are 6kg each have tried lifting these but not sure on what exercises to do with them or do I just stand and lift them. Please help I really want to tone my arms and belly
Thanks in advance

Weight lifting helps build muscle. If you have a significant amount of body fat to lose, until this is reduced, you cannot look more toned. You will for sure have stronger muscles and be in better shape, but you can have e.g. awesome abs under the fat. Not saying you should nto lift, it is great exercise, but do not expect to e.g. get a 6pack in a month, or you will get disappointed.
If you have absolutely no clue about weight training, it is best to join a gym and find someone to show you what to do and then exercise at home when you have figured out the basics. It is very easy to get hurt or to end up with little results because of poor form.
If a gym is not an option, then try googling and watch some videos, focusing on form. If you can try new things out in front of a mirror and compare to what you see on videos, this could help.0
