Bigger now than I was 9 months pregnant with twins...

I am 31 and larger than I was almost 7 years ago the day I was admitted to the hospital to have two 6 pound girls! My belly isn't as large (thank goodness) but my pants are two sizes bigger and I weight a few pounds more. I am 195 which for the first time in my life has brought me to the obese category and with a family history of cancer, diabetes, stroke and heart disease, I am changing for the better and I hope to make these changes permanently. Right now, I am not focused on calories (though I am watching portion sizes) and I am not focusing on going all out. Rather I am taking my time, building positive habits, like my daily morning walk and now I am up to walking 3 miles a day (broken into three walking sessions) and do up to 4 per day when time allows. I am very out of shape and am shocked that simply walking has given me killer shinsplints but my goal is to lose enough weight to begin running again. For being larger I hide my weight well. It is even distributed over my body but I feel miserable. I am ready for a new life. Change feels good.

Hi! That was my motivation to join as well, bigger than i was when I was pregnant and approaching a no-zone weight number. I've been on MFP since September, and its been great, down 27 lb and hoping to lose some more. I only recently started reading the forums and gaining some MFP friends. My focus right now is exercise and cleaning up some of my family's eating habits.0

Stick with it, and don't forget slow progress is still progress! Especially after you lose some of the initial weight it takes more effort to lose a few lbs, so don't get discouraged if the scale doesn't move every week or even goes up a couple of pounds. Especially as a women it happens as our water weight changes during the month.0
