Looking for Friends to Share Food Journals

Good morning all! I'm looking for some new friends who live a similar lifestyle and are willing to share their food journals. It helps me to see what others are doing. Most of my current friends are vegetarian, so that isn't helping me.

I'm 33, married and have two teenage boys. We are busy all of the time and prepare most of our meals at home. I work and take my lunch (mostly leftovers). My activity level is still low and I'm looking for motivation to get back to it every day.

If we have anything in common, I would love to get to know you better.

No creeps please. ;)

  • Hey, Angela! I'm a mom of two teenagers, as well, and we stay busy. But I'm single, and I have no help. Not only am I am working full-time, but I'm also in school full-time, so my time is super limited. Fortunately, my children love fish, so we eat it at least 3 times a week. It's VERY quick to fix and I end up spending most of my time on fixing even quicker sides. Plus, I plan my meals the night before and if I need to thaw out anything, I do that so I can get to my dinner quickly.

Up until two weeks ago, I was doing NO exercise, as well, but now I walk/run using Active's Couch-to-5K app. I have to get up at 5:00 am to do it it, but it's been worth it. I didn't think I'd be able to do it, but I'm finding that I'm falling asleep by 10 pm, and it's easy to get up at 5 am when you go to bed that early. Besides, it's quiet, peaceful, and it gives me time to think about my day, I say affirmations while I'm walking, and it gets me rolling for the rest of the day. My days seem to go a lot smoother since I've been getting up that early.

Engaging my children in my weight loss efforts has been extremely helpful, as well. Sometimes, on the weekends my daughter will walk with me. And now they understand why we make the food choices that I make for us as a family and they are supportive.

    Feel free to add me!

Welcome to MFP. I am a 35 year old mom to 3. Almost 14, almost 12, and just turned 9. I try to pack a lunch most days and am sort of on again off again on preparing dinner. With 3 kids in 4h, coaching Girls on the Run and volunteering on top of a school job, most days I am running helter skelter.

Feel free to add me if you'd like.

I am a mother to 2 boys, 4 and a 2 year old. With working full time it's hard to find time to fit exercise in. I get up at 5am most days and run on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I actually find that I enjoy it as it is my "me time".
