I count calories, but I don't keep a journal

Hi,
I started a diet on Sept 1., my weight was 344 lbs. I read many posts and take what I need from each. I know I will never write down everything I eat or even calculate all the exercise (in calories) that I do. I give myself 1500 calories a day whether I exercise or not. I figure it will all balance out in the end. I lost a decent amount of weight the first month and I still enjoy eating some junk food. Its been about 40 days and I haven't craved to much. If I go off course one day I will just exercise more the following couple of days and that should balance it out. I guess i'm trying to make a plan that I will stick with once I reach my goal. The one thing I try to do is stay very close to the 1500 calories a day. I don't want my metabolism to slow down to much. Thanks Paul
