Return to a healthier plan after a VLCD

i've been on a VLCD for 45 days now and i've lost 34 lbs in this period. nevertheless the weight loss ratio is begining to slow down and i'm thinking about getting back to a healthier way of losing (a lot of) extra weight.
i'm 27, male, 6.1, i weight 286 lbs and ofcourse i'm sedentary. i'm taking minerals and Omega-3 and multi vitamins everyday and i don't feel any discomfort about my VLCD.
So, i guess my question is, is there any way to (almost) maintain the weight loss ratio and in the same time live on a healthier diet? should i continue with the VLCD? i'm also thinking about adding exercises (swimming) to my daily routine. any help would be appreciated.

I recommend you eat back your exercise calories and get something like the amiigo (not out yet, but soon will be), or a fitbit.

What's worked well for me and a lot of other people is a low-carb diet with a calorie amount that's good for your Total Daily Energy Expenditure. Here are two good links: http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ http://reddit.com/r/keto

This diet works especially well if you have more weight to lose. As a smaller person I use a modified version of keto to maintain my weight.
  • Many thanks. Ok, my VLCD is almost as low as what keto is calculating for my cal intakes ( i chose the lowest intake though). so should i suppose that what i was doing is the right way to do it (giving some adjustment on Macros)?
