I have been sick for pretty much a week now. I finally found out that I had a bacterial pneumonia. I haven't been exercising. I wasn't able to eat for a few days, but when I started eating. Keep in mind I have been eating good food for the most part and drinking lots of water as I had become dehydrated. I weighed myself today to find out I have put on 6 lbs. What a backset. I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this for me. I have been on quite a bit of meds over the week. I thought I would be able to start walking slowly today, but my doc recommended to wait until I have cleared the fluid in my lungs, plus I still feel pretty weak. But I am feeling a little better everyday. I just feel a little discourage because I thought that this might actually help me lose some weight. I thought when your body was trying to fight of illness it would burn more calories. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I don't know much about the burning calories when your body is fighting off illness but I think you should really give yourself a chance to get better. Don't be too hard on yourself, you were really sick and need to give your body a break and your mind. The defeat of illness can take so much out of you. Be kind to yourself and give yourself a chance to get better. Listen to your body and let your body rest if it needs to rest. Health is number 1. There's a new day tomorrow.

    Be well,
    Bye for now,

Sorry you've been so sick, I agree with Cloe don't worry about it right now. Your body is doing what it needs to to fight the infection. Won't be long you will be your old self again. Meanwhile put in a good movie and a cup of hot tea, and chicken soup then take a nap. :flowerforyou:

just a thought but it could be water retention
when i had it.... my ankle became agony due water retention in fact that was how i was diagnosed as i didnt have a cough but when they checked my chest they found that was the cause of the ankle problem .... but also when i was dieting recently i cdnt get rid of a chest infection even with antibiotics
but as soon as i ate normally it cleared up so i wouldnt rush back into it until u feel much better
    u take care of yourself
