Good afternoon all,
I've been doing some research on how to not eat so much red meat, fish and other processed food and came across Dr. Fuhrman. Has anybody heard of him or tried his eating plan of more plant based foods rather than processed? Any recommendations or success stories?
Thanks
Gary

Yes I have. I have had a few false starts trying to start living this lifestyle. My downfall is after supper. There is a good facebook site. Nutritarian Living - A Plant Based Eat To Live Support Group. I switched to green tea and that helped me have no headaches when I gave up coffe. Good luck.0

Yes, I'm familiar with his way of eating, and it wouldn't be sustainable for me.
My question for you is that if you wish to eat less meat or processed foods (whatever you specifically mean by that), and more plants, why not just do that? I don't know how you eat now, but it's quite possible to increase the vegetables you are eating with meals, substitute raw veg or smoothies or fruit for snacks, reduce the amount of meat (or switch the types if red meat is a concern and, say, fish is not) or start replacing servings of meat with other sources of protein like beans.
This is probably easier if you don't immediately jump to Fuhrman recommended things like cutting out olive oil. since most vegetables taste good cooked in olive oil and it can contribute to a tasty dressing. Plus, I simply don't see the point.0
