For the past 2 weeks I've been eating under my 1200 calories, and eventhough I wasn't starving, I was regularly hungry. I lost a total of 6 lbs, but I gained 3 back because I overate during the weekends from being so hungry. So I basically learned the hard way that I need to eat to satisfy my hunger and not eat less to lose more weight. I'm so much happier now that my stomach isn't constantly growling. I'm in a better mood too.
