I used to ask my parents "why isn't there a (son/daughter/kid) day?"

I'll tell you what they told me: "Every day is a kid's day."

    This is soooo true.

That being said, strangely, as an adult if my mom knows I'm coming over she always does something special for me. And I'm over at least once every week or two....I guess I'm just that freaking awesome - and now I know where my daughter gets it from! haha kidding

Great. One more day to add to the 359 other days that are all about them.

if you think about it, we should be giving presents to our mothers on our birthdays. All we did was show up.

The Japanese have a "Children's Day celebration in May. It used to be Girl's Day in March and Boy's Day in May, but now it's combined.

Hmmm - a [citation needed] is needed there. Jan 12th, Sep 23rd and 26th, and July 1st are all given as answers if you look at the related questions. Who (other than Hallmark) decides on these things???

I agree... as a parent I put myself last. Whether it's time or anything else... but I love doing it!
