What Muscles Should I Work Together??

I was just wondering what muscles should be worked together... I've heard you shouldn't work big muscle groups together?
Also, do you know of any sites that have some good workout suggestions? I would like to loose fat and build lean muscle. How much weight should I do & how many reps in order to achieve this?

you're at the point that you can do a circuit, which would incorporate all the major muscle groups. you are not at the point where you have to worry about back & bi's, chest & tri's, etc.0 -

To add to the Captain's post, nerdfitness is a great resource...and it's free so bonus there. Beyond that you may want to look into established lifting programs like New Rules of Lifting for Women, Starting Strength, Strong Lifts, etc. I am personally partial to full body workouts...full body lifting programs are very efficient and effective...as a beginner you don't need to worry about doing splits and what not as you would just be doing a lot of unnecessary volume at this point and being new, excessive volume can be counterproductive.
Circuit training with weights and other resistance equipment, should you go that route, is a great way to get in a mix of resistance and cardio and train your muscular endurance and stamina.0 -

I actually do zumba most days, and was just wanting to throw in some strength training exercises after my zumba workouts... What would be a good way to do that?0

Just squat and deadlift.
no...OHP, Bench and Rows...
to the OP do you want strength or resistence. IMHO they are different.
I started with resistence training using hand weights etc and circut training doing body weight stuff like squats, lunges, planks, mountian climbers etc...Jillian Michaels has some good videos or fitnessblender does as well.
If you want to start a heavy lifting program and do compound lifts try New Rules of Lifting for women, Strong lifts or Strarting strength.0 -
