Strategies for Staying On Program @ All inclusive resort

Hi MF Pals!
I am going on vacation to an all inclusive resort (lucky me!!) next week. I have lost about 10 pounds in the past 30 days, and do not want to derail my progress!
Any ideas for staying accountable? The resort does not have free wifi, so I worry about tracking. I try to eat around 1500 calories a day. I don't want to totally abandon the plan, but I also want to enjoy some drinks on the beach. :drinker: Thoughts/strategies would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Suz

Don't eat dessert at every meal. Try and eat a more reasonable breakfast and lunch. Try and be as active as possible. Enjoy and have fun!

I just had one too...I didn't worry about it at all...I ate reasonable portions but drank my face off...I didn't really walk a lot, staggered maybe...went to the gym once, swam a bit but to be frank it's vacation.

I did gain 4lbs...but lost it in two week...

I just had fun and didn't worry about it too much.

As a strict hater of all inclusive holidays my advise: don't do it. ;-)

Well, the good thing is, there is most likely a buffet. So choosing can be easy.
And normally there are loads of activities.
If it is at the sea, swimming is a great whole body exercise, running around on the beach as well.

If you give a sh** about what other people think, you can bring your scale.
Or make sure you know around the weight of food before you go
(A hand size of meat is x grams, potatoes the size of your fist are x gram, etc.)

    Have a great holiday!

Enjoy yourself, get in a little exercise, and be mindful of your eating. This is a vacation so relax and have fun!

Depending on the country and quality of the resort/food, breakfast omelets made to order work well. Be careful of any vegetables washed in the water or you may lose weight in a very uncomfortable way. We usually only eat fruit you can peel. I gained on our last all-inclusive because I ate the alternative meal twice a day...spaghetti with either meat sauce or alfredo. I'm not a fan of "mystery meat". That being said, the drinks and the beach were fantastic!! And we knew going in what to expect for the price we paid. Higher quality resort=better food, I'm sure! Have fun!

At buffets my strategy is to take only 1 tablespoon of the items I like to try. I like tasting different foods. I only go back for a reasonable serving if I really like the item.

Stay active. Walking is great because you get to see a lot of the area and get a reasonable amount of exercise too.

    Enjoy it!

I pretty much did the same thing...went back for lobster and shrimp and the mexican night (not tex mex real mexican)

My weight gain was alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll rum

I eat everything in moderation and try to be active--- you can swim at the beach or the pool or go for a walk on the beach. Maybe you can explore some of the area on foot or by bicycle. Enjoy yourself though first and foremost-- part of the fun at an all inclusive is indulging in food and drink!

I don't worry about food (much) while on vacation. I don't really like lazing about though, so we walk and swim and boogie board and whatever else. I figure it's vacation and I really don't want to worry about food all the time, but being active helps balance out my indulgence.

Try to eat a smaller breakfast and lunch to save the bulk of your calories for dinner, and do as much walking and swimming as you can. But most of all, have fun! Don't let food be the focus of the trip, let having a good time, seeing new places, meeting new people be the focus!
