What's the best ratio for building muscle?

40/40/20 is my guess (protein/carbs/fat)......I am transitioning from weight loss to building/bulking. What say you and why?

Depends on if you're on gear or not. More protein and calories if so, otherwise ratios aren't nearly as critical on a bulk as they can be for maximizing LBM retention on a cut.

LOL! I had to Google what "gear" meant. Definitely not on gear......just want to add some muscle which is difficult at 40 so trying to find the optimal ratios for diet.

There are no optimal ratios. Ratios are nonsensical, honestly. Think about your macros in absolute terms. Get at least 1.2 grams of protein per lb of lean body mass.
