Anyone here participating?
Those that don't participate, do you like or dislike seeing your coworkers brats at work?

I've always disliked the custom. Now that I have teens, it could be educational. But not the little ones. They have no brains.0

Ugh. My annoying coworker has her daughter in today. Just making her want to be more social than she already is. Going to be a LONG day!0
-
Personnaly, I don't believe children belong in the work place.0

My teens have fewer brains than they did when they were little. But they are both at school today and I don't see any other kids around so...yay.0 -
I remember last year the lawyer I work for bringing his oldest daughter in. She was 15 at the time so it really wasn't a problem. Plus he had to go other places that day and took her with him. Not today though as he's in court all day.0

My kids would be bored to death coming to work with me today. Though in my cop days...that would have been interesting.0

I just saw a cop with presumably his son in the front seat with him as I was coming back from the door. I hope his son doesn't encounter anything awful, but I also hope he doesn't spend the day watching his dad texting while driving.0 -
Kids in the workplace, no. Teens yes so they can see how freakn hard you work to give them all ur money and leave you broke! Just then they may appreciate.......doubt it. They will just ask for more. :drinker:0

Please don't add teens to this dreadful day!0 -
Ha Ha Where I live they have a "Take your Brat (as in Polish sausage) to work day" so I totally thought that's what you
were talking about.. It's a fund raiser and Oscar Mayer or whoever makes brats in our area grills thousands of brats and
people drive through a parking lot and pick them up in in the morning on their way to work.0 -

Now that is something I would fully support.
My company has a bunch of activities planned during the day so the kid's don't have to sit with their parent the entire day. I am sure the intent was to both save some level of productivity and give the kid's something fun to do.0 -
My son is 4 and has a lot of questions about what I do at work and why I have to go to work. I think it could be beneficial to him to come in for a little while, not all day, and see what I do here. Unfortunately, my boss would never allow it. It surprises me how many places do allow it though.0

I like my child too much to subject her to the *kitten* I work with.0

I work for a family-owned company.
Take your brat to work day happens more frequently than once a year.0 -
*kitten* YES!!!
Oh, you meant the child type of brat. I got all excited for nothing.0 -
I work at my gym's daycare, so every day is Take Your Brat to Work Day, for me.

I'm a SAHM... I kept a kid home today... Am I doing it right?0

I haven't seen any brats today! I would not bring my son yet, he would not be able to handle the boredom. My daughter is 13, and REALLY wanted to come in with me, but she has her state testing today and couldn't miss it.
I used to take her to work with me a few times a year at my last job. She loved it, and was always well behaved. I always had her do the stuff that drove me nuts like filing and sorting paperwork, stapling receipt packets, etc. :laugh:0 -
I've shut the door. Last year, someone's kids looked through my desk, used my highlighters to draw their mom a nice picture and left the caps off. And then they proceeded to play with my action figures and didn't put them back. It took me weeks to find Mjolnir, Thor's hammer.
I probably should've stopped writing after the thing about the highlighters.0 -
My mom took me to work one year. It was fun!
I got to play on a typewriter and all her coworkers gave me candy!!
My employer doesn't participate, but they let us bring our kids for the company Christmas party.0 -
I think it sucks if you work in an office and don't do anything but sit at a desk all day. Luckily my job is cool, so I like to take my daughter to work for a bit to see what I do, then back to school.0
