You just have to wait it out, lay off the exercise involving your legs until they feel better. Then you take preventive measures like shin/ankle stretching and strengthening exercises before and after your runs.
My routine is walking around on the balls of your feet, and then your heels for a good distance, then putting your back against a wall, feet about one foot length away from the wall, shoulder-width apart. Now start doing push-ups with only your heels. I do about 30 of those 5 times, in-between sets of those I walk around my house on my heels some more. Once I started doing this consistently I didn't have shin pains anymore after excessive leg cardio. The exercises them self you'll know are working because you'll feel the tiny muscles on the front of the shin burning up.0 -
Well, you can make the pain of them go away in time by: When your sitting watching TV or whatever put your feet flat on the floor and raise your toe's (to ball of your foot upward) up and back down, this helps in time with the pain of them.0

Make sure you stretch out your calves a lot. They are caused by the muscles in the calf. So if you stretch them out nicely they will get better xxx0

Ice them. Take a paper cup, freeze some water in it, rip off the paper halfway down the ice block and rub it up and down your shins for ten minutes on each side. Can't remember what else to do. Also, rest for a few days. If you can do a different workout, not involving stressing your shins, that's great. Get shoes with better support. Take anti-inflammatory medicine such as ibuprofen, etc
There are also shin sleeves you can use. Here's a great link for them. http://www.footsmart.com/ProductList.aspx?productCategoryId=77&srccode=WMNDEFLT&cm_mmc=gcontent-_-Health-_-s-_-Shin_Splints&src=fspaid&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=shin+splints+treatment&utm_content=c18-Shin+Splints&utm_campaign=c33&siclientid=1873&sessguid=5df47417-9b43-45a9-8571-ca16b4f02903&userguid=5df47417-9b43-45a9-8571-ca16b4f02903&permguid=5df47417-9b43-45a9-8571-ca16b4f02903&sissr=10
