Introducing Quebec's new Minister of Health

Options
After a failed attempt at politics in 2012, Gaétan Barrette was elected as member of National Assembly on April 7th, 2014. Having an extensive background in medicine, he was appointed as Minister of Health by Quebec's new Prime Minister Philippe Couillard.

Barrette studied medicine at the University of Grenoble and the University of Montreal. He became radiologist before completing a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at the University of San Diego. In 1989, he became a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In 1998, he became President of Quebec's Radiologist Association, and in 2006, he became President of Quebec's Specialist Doctors Federation (FQMS).

In 2014, he left presidency of the FQMS to assume his duties as member of National Assembly and Minister of Health.

Oh. Is it supposed to be a 'thing' because he's overweight? Even though he has 'an extensive background in medicine' and

Which meant he was deemed qualified for the position?

I am sensing some fat shaming here because their Minister of Health is overweight.

Forget intellect! Does he lift? Can he run a respectable 10k? These are how we should decide who is in this position, not by a silly metric like years of study and experience!

Yeah I want my x to be the health minister. He's uneducated, but he's buff! Surely this man with all this intense education had plenty of time to hit the gym.

Don't even get me started. It's Premier in English, and Premiere Ministre en français. (First minister) But ... quebec politics, yadda, yadda, yadda

I think the difference here is reflected in what governments consider Health Care. Treating the sick only - instead of educating the healthy and treating the sick. The Premiere Ministre is also a doctor if I'm not mistaken.
