Best Workout Music....EVER!

Well, I start at Planet Fitness next Wendesday (when they open) and I have been reading alot about everything and "they" say its best to not read a book or watch television or anyhting else that takes your mind off focusing on your workout. They do suggest getting some beats that make you move. I am not a huge music person BUT I have been listening to some bangin country that makes me dance in my car so I figured hey why not get an iPod shuffle and put some tunes on it and try it when I work out. Can't hurt right?
On that very long note...I was wondering what song really gets you going when you work out? You know, the ones that even if you aren't paying attention the beat hits you and makes you move! I am open to ALL sorts of music as I have already loaded songs from Luke Bryan, Gwen Stefani, Miley Cyrus, Lorde and Mandisa!
Thanks for everyones AMAZING help in advance and I can't wait to check out what you all suggest :-)

These are all my 'work out' play list:
Blacked Eyed Peas (scroll through and find some of their tracks; they've got a FEW)
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis "Can't Hold us"
Icona Pop "I Love It"
Britney Spears "Work B*tch"
Pitbull "Don't stop the party'
Pitbull/Kesha "Timber"
Nicki Minaj "Moment 4 Life"
Now, half of these artists I don't 'typically' listen to, but the beats have proven to be awesome when I need to push a bit further in my cardio. I can NOT work out without my music now.
My rule of thumb; If I hear it on the radio and it MAKES me dance or I can't help moving when it comes on.. I try it out at the gym!
Good luck! I'm interested to see some other suggestions.0 -
I listen to a lot of rock music, a lot of Shinedown, Three Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, Bush, Five Finger Death Punch, Linkin Park, Trapt and Breaking Benjamin. Then at a certain small gym I go to we only listen to classic rock.
And when I am in a silly mood I listen to Showtunes because I like theater.0 -
Eminem. Lots of Eminem!0

I go with Pandora Pop and Hip Hop Power Workout.0

I actually use a site called steady mixes.com and pick music by the BPM or type of workout I wanna do. The music is free and its got quite a variety. Not sure if they have an app for a phone though.0

Pandora station and then your favorite artist. I prefer Nickleback because the songs are a country/rock hybrid.

Problem - Natalia Kills0

It really depends on my mood. Today it was Demon Hunter on my lunchtime walk. When I'm dancing in my chair at work, it's most often Michael Buble.0
-
That sounds very neat, the BPM radio station.0
-
The "BIG FOUR" metal bands for the gym. Flo-Rida for the streets.0

Some of mine for running/walking:
Beatles "Here Comes the Sun" is my favorite warm-up song
Black Eyed Peas - lots of it!
Robin Thicke Blurred Lines - HATE the words, but have to admit the beat is catchy and fun to work out to (its in the middle of my playlist)
LMFAO "Sexy and I know It" - another one that is cliche, but fun to work out to
Salt n Pepa - "Push it! "
Genesis "I Can't Dance"
Jog.FM has some good suggestions, and their library of titles is HUGE!0 -
Foo Fighters - All My Life
There is FREE software made my MixMeister that will analyze your songs and tell you how many beats per minute they have. You may try this to determine what songs work best for you, or organize your playlist to increase the tempo as your workout continues.0 -

Yeah - Pandora has a lot of different themed fitness channels. Since I always have my phone with me for recording my walks/rides/runs - I might as well as use it for music too. I never have bought any ipod like thing yet. I don't listen to music while riding. I don't need the music for rides to keep me going.0

For me all I need is the Ramones, but the Violent Femmes, the Clash, and the Beasty Boys (80’s) get me pumped.0

I like using 80s rock -- the Cars and the Go-gos are nice and bouncy for cardio, and Genesis is good for weight lifing. A few Adele tracks are good, but better to buy single tracks than the whole albums imho. For something more eclectic but very energizing, check out Afro Celt Sound System, especially Volume 5. It will make you move.0

Add Diana Ross -- Upside Down, and I'm Coming Out.0 -
I like 80s rock for walk/run intervals. I love Flogging Molly and Great Big Sea. Leonard Cohen is nice and mellow for lunch time walks, when I have to go back to work and can't be a soggy mess!0
-
Totally cliche, BUT, Eye of the Tiger is the BEST music for me when I need to motivate my *kitten* and get out the door.0
-
i go with Pandora and put the Workout Station. the only bad part about this is that they have adds...sometimes TWO times in a row !!!0
-
Although, I have to add, Biz Markie’s “Just a Friend” gets me going every time! OH BABY YOU… YOU GOT WHAT I NEEEEED…. How many of y’all sang that as you read it? And How many of you now have it stuck in your head? ;-)
OH BABY YOU… YOU GOT WHAT I NEEEEED….0 -
Check out Shredz workout mix0

LMFAO's popular stuff
Hip-hop (like anything by Jurassic5... maybe Deltron 3030)
QOTSA (self-titled album and maybe songs for the deaf)
Any dance music, rap or hip-hop that you actually like is usually pretty good. I just look for the steady, not-too-slow-not-too-fast beat in a format that I enjoy.0 -
I go with Pandora Pop and Hip Hop Power Workout.
Thanks for this! Just added it to my list!0 -
Pandora Dance Cardio! It is the best to listen to when walking cause I usually speed up to the beat!0

Does anyone listen to motivational speeches/clips in their music mixes? I've really been thinking about adding some to mine. Like Rocky's convo with his son...
