staying within deficit

I am 4 days into this and of course had a lifetime of struggling with weight but I had a baby 3 months ago and since I stopped breastfeeding and returned to work I have started gaining weight. anyway I'm not new to MFP and have had previous success since my starting weight was 241 but this time around I have struggled with staying within my calorie range. Yes I've made poor choices and I cant expect change overnight but previously I had no trouble staying under- during my pregnancy I was able to eat almost anything I wanted and didn't gain much but today for example Im already at my cap and haven't even had dinner. Between work and the baby it leaves little time to put in a workout....any ideas? help? Support?

You may have your deficient too aggressive for every 250 calories is a .5lb. so if you have your loss set at 2 lbs. you can just up your daily by 250 calories and it will only change results by 1/2 lb per week

I did that and it only allowed me 70 additional calories. :(

1200 calories is sooooo little... and it bites like today.. I feel like if I want dinner I have to go earn it by going on a walk/ride or something!!!! it feels so much harder now with a baby!

1 lb is 3500 calories so it probably has the amount you burn daily just living your life set at about 2100 ( this is mine for 175lbs 5' 4" 37 yrs old and lightly active) so that would mean at 1600 calories you would lose 1 lb per week and at 1850 a 1/2 lb. Try doing the TDEE method it may work better for you and then you can decide exactly where you want your calories
