Hello

I need your advise. At the moment I am doing Turbo Jam and i really love it. In 2 weeks I will finish the 4 week schedule and I want to move on to something else. I am trying to decide between Slim in 6 and Power 90. Or maybe I should do Slim Series? I already have Chalean Extreme and will start this in the new year. So what would be your advise for me to do? My goals are to lose weight and tone up. I want to lose weight mainly on my thighs and bum and also my belly.

What are you experience with those programs. Any pros and cons etc.

Any opinion is appreciated!

Well think it depends on your fitness level. Power 90 is a much harder workout I hear. I've done Slim in 6 off and on for years and used it to lose weight and shape up after I had my son. It will work your booty and legs. I'm using it mixed in with Turbo Fire right now. Seems to be a good mix of low cardio days with high impact cardio days.

I have done a bit more reading. My worry is that I will find Power 90 too boring. I have read now that for the whole 90 days you do the same exercises you just increase the repetition on the 2nd level. I think I will probably get too bored of it then. So at the moment I am thinking more of Slim in 6.

And thanks for your reply! It is so difficult to judge your own fitness level. As I said I am doing Turbo Jam at the moment. I can tell that Cardio Party has gotten easier for me. I am sweating and I am out of breath after the Turbo but I am getting through it ok.

I've done Power 90 and Slim in 6. They're both really good. With Power 90, you work out six days a week for 90 days, alternating between strength and cardio workouts, so you're doing the same exercises every other day. It has two levels of difficulty. With Slim in 6, you work out six days a week for six weeks, doing the same exercises every day. It has three levels of difficulty.

With Slim Series, there are six different workouts, so you can do a different workout every day. It's what I'm doing now, and it is hands down my favorite program. I absolutely love it. I love what it's done for my body, and I love how it feels when I'm doing it. If you have the budget, I'd encourage you to do Slim in 6 first. It's monotonous, but it's only six weeks, and it's a great foundation to build on.

    Thanks for your reply Jill.

What you suggested is actually was I was thinking off doing. I think it is better to do 6 weeks of the same workouts than 90 days as in Power 90. I think I can do 6 weeks of the same workouts. And then I will continue with the Slim Series until next year when I will move on to Chalean Extreme.

I have seen several different rotations for the Slim Series. What are you doing? Or is there anything you would recommend?

Power90 might be a tad slower, but I just wanted to make sure you mean that and NOT P90X, which is much more intense and not nearly as boring :)
When you are ready..that is a definite workout to try.
I am a Chalene freak myself. Started w/ Turbo Jam years ago. Moved on to ChaLEAN Extreme and have Turbo Fire as well.
Slim in 6 is a tad too slow for me :) I like high cardio and a bit more upbeat of a trainer.

There are a ton of hybrid schedules that you can use to combine several of the Beachbody programs.
If you can't find one that you are looking for, just ask. I can look into it for you :)

I've done it a few different ways, but I think the best is the straight Slim Training version (all six workouts, then one rest day), which I just started a new rotation of yesterday. Last rotation, I did a hybrid of Slim Series (four workouts), Slim in 6 (one workout), and P90X (one workout). But starting out my rotation yesterday with one of the Slim Series workouts I'd given up during my hybrid rotation makes me realize how much I was missing out on by skipping it. If you do Slim Series, you may love it so much you never move on to Chalean Extreme. I've never done CE, but I've done three rounds of P90X, and I personally believe Slim Series is a more effective program for what I want.

Thanks Jill....That is very interesting! I am hoping to move on to P90X one day. I was thinking maybe the middle of next year.

I will start with Slim in 6 and then move on to the Slim Series. Maybe you are right and I won't try Chalean Extreme. I do fancy it at the moment though and also my boyfriend will join me for it

I am looking forward to start now after I have read so much! 1.5 weeks and I am ready to go

Cool! Let me know when you get to Slim Series. We can keep tabs on each other. I do four regular weeks and one recovery week, and I expect I'll be doing this for a while. I may decide to mix things up and try TurboFire at some point. I was planning to do that after my last round of P90X, but I missed Slim Series so much, I decided to go back to it for a while, and now I don't want to stop. If it ain't broke...
