Working up to a 10k

Good morning,
I can currently run 5k without any problems and run 2-3 miles about 4 days a week. To give me something to aim for, I want to sign up for a 10k in December. Does anyone know how much you should increase your mileage at a time to get ready for a 10k?
Thanks for any suggestions!

LOVE Hal Higdon training plans.. I've used them from 5K to marathon training. Here is a novice 10K plan:

Sounds like you have a good base and should be able to do a 10K no problem with a little bit extra mileage over time.
Good luck!0 -
