Ketosis with High Cals or Low Cal "Diet"?

So I have a question. I'm eating 1200 cals a day (or so) but I find that I need to reduce my carbs and replace with healthy fats and protein. I can't do this effectively without going over my calories by a lot (darn you delicious and calorie loaded peanut butter!)
Would it be more effective to increase my daily cals and have the ability to lose weight if I'm able to go into ketosis, compared to my current "diet"?
I try to eat as clean as possible and have lost 60lbs in the last 6 months. However, summer is coming and I definitely need the energy boost to play sports again and maintain muscle building.
Truth is, I have no idea what I'm doing: Any and all advice would be appreciated!

Hi, I have to admit that I actually had to look up ketosis and research it to understand. It looks like what you proposed would work as long as you are consuming the right fats.
A nutritionist I spoke to who specializes in sports nutrition (for athletes who work out A LOT) recommended a diet that is higher in protein than increasing fats too much.
I know this is not too much help LOL I would be interested to hear what more knowledgeable people have to say so I'll bump this a couple times to get it more attention for you0 -
Thanks Jackie!
I really want to increase protein too much i'm so limited by the amount of calories that i'm consuming. I want to diversify a bit because even a simple piece of chicken breast could be an entire meal's worth. I could have lots of fish but i'd rather not.0
