Cardio vs Strength (Lifting)

I'm trying to lose weight I'm much more into weights than cardio. Should I do cardio to lose the weight or can I just focus on weights and light cardio?

Weight training will help you keep your muscle whereas cardio has a tendency to burn muscle. You need both in any fitness plan, but don't go crazy with the cardio or you'll loose weight, but it will be more muscle than fat.

I do 20-25 minutes of cardio at a time and alternate cardio and strength days.

Only having a calorie deficit will allow you to lose weight.

    this.
    calorie deficit = weight loss
strength training = minimizing MUSCLE loss- maximizing fat loss
Cardio = more calories burned- so the chance to create a bigger deficit and either burn more- or eat more (I use cardio specifically so I can eat more- because I'm a serious fat kid)

This is totally me. HAHA. But ya, calorie deficit for weight loss. Strength for maintaining muscle and toning. If you do strictly strength training you will probably find that you will lose some serious inches but your weight probably won't go down much.

^ This but throw in some cardio (good for the ticker) and some heavy weights.
