Pretty sad if something like this is making 'the news'. I like Planet Fitness. Handled badly, but come on peoples!! Rules are rules.0

I don't really know how the gym handled it so it is hard to comment. There is always more than one side to the story. They did offer her a tshirt which she refused.
This gym is known for asking people to leave for violating a number of their policies. It doesn't exactly surprise me.
I think it reflects poorly on a business when they do not equally enforce a policy. Either you do or you don't, IMO. We do not know for sure if that was or was not done here. But in the end, it is their policy and they are within their rights to enforce it.
I also don't think she gets a pass because she is pregnant. My belly is bigger than hers right now and I have had no issue keeping it covered. The top does not look like it is riding up in the picture, it looks like that is how it was worn. If it also rides up like she said (referring to before she was pregnant), it is entirely possible she was showing even more of her belly. Who knows.

Well, I did read the article. It appears that the problem was that the gym in question is not consistent in their dress code policy. She had been wearing this and similar outfits for several years without comment, but when her belly stuck out a bit she was asked to cover up or leave. Also, the fact that it was not done in a more private manner was very unprofessional and when she went to cancel her membership more embarassing conversation ensued in front of other patrons. Not cool.0

The woman claims she was embarrassed by the staff, so she calls the media and draws more attention to herself. Makes sense!
Planet Fitness may be picky, but a dress code is a dress code. Anyone who didn't like the dress code could have simply not signed up for a membership.0 -

My issue with that argument is she says she has been wearing the same tank top for years but goes on to say this is the first time she has gone visibly pregnant. The top is going to fit differently. Plus, she said it used to ride up with movement. If it did then, it definitely does now.0 -
Oh for God's sake pregnant woman, buy a longer shirt!
She whined about the staff embarrassing her then she turns around and called the media? Yeah, right. She's ticked she wasn't given special treatment to wear what she wants.
She agreed to the rules when she signed the contract. Boo hoo for her that they actually enforce their rules.
