Hi guys! So I've been in battle to loose weight for over a year and still stayed the same! I gained weight at uni and am struggling to loose it so bad!
I am soo interested in the fitness stuff and I know what's good and bad for me but I just can't fit the motivation to stop me eating bad foods when I want them (especially chocolate
)
I am going on holiday in June and I know I haven't go long but I want to look as best as I can in that short amount of time!
Do you have any suggestion on how I can motivate myself? Bring myself off the sugar cravings? Become a fitty in a bikini?
Help me please

In just to see what kind of response you get.
Here's my prediction. You'll get either "Awesome. Let's motivate each other" or "No one can do this for you" and nothing in between.
On topic, though, take one day at a time, be honest with your logging, and be patient.0 -
Im going on hliday in august and im using that as a motovation to lose weight. ive lost 18lbs so far but this week i seem to be struggling. I normally noticed ive lost weight between tuesday and wednesday but ive only lost half a pound that i gained from my cheat day on saturday
.
Also ive bought smaller size in my holiday clothes so i have no choice but to get this weight of lol.0 -
I agree with being loyal in your entry of foods eaten. If you are honest with your entries maybe you will stop and think before eating something bad. I'm new and decide to make this my strategy.0

I've been a yo-yo for many years. Whatever you choose...pick something sustainable.
Changes I am willing to make (for a lifetime): eat more veggies, get a decent amount of fiber, get a decent amount of protein. To accomplish this I need to eat "better" ....not perfectly....just better. I also need to get off my lazy butt and move more.
Changes I am NOT willing to make (for a lifetime): swear off chocolate, eat low carb, become a gym rat. These would be temporary fixes for me.....been there, done that.0 -
Yeah I agree, I'm definitely a secret eater! Worst habit ever0

The yo-yoing usually comes from trying to stay at an unsustainable calorie goal, or categorizing foods as good or bad, or trying to avoid certain foods - or a combination of all of these things.
I still eat chocolate, pizza, burgers, drink alcohol, enjoy desserts, etc. These things fit into my daily calories, right along side lean meats, fruits and veggies, etc. Unless you're willing to give something up forever, then trying to cut it out completely for a "diet" or because it's "bad" is likely just going to make you want it more, or cause you to go overboard when you do have it and eat far more than you should. hence the yo-yo situation.
I went through all of that for a year or two - lost some weight, slacked off with the logging and exercise, gained some back, got back to it, lost some more, then gained it back. I finally decided that the stopping and starting just absolutely sucks! And I vowed that I wasn't going through it again. So I found a more sustainable way of doing things.
This topic was a huge help for me: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/974888-in-place-of-a-road-map-2k13 With this info I figured my BMR and my TDEE - basically my high and low end "boundaries" for calories. I eat in between those numbers, I lose weight. This allows for "life" to happen - birthdays, holidays, weddings, dinners out, vacations - times when you may not have control over the menu, or when you want to actually enjoy all the yummy foods - and it works because it fits into my calorie goals. I know I can eat all the way up to my TDEE and I won't gain.

It's important to eat the right number of cals for you & your activity level. We don't want to over eat, but we don't want to under eat either - leads to the yo-yo problem, as well as other issues. A properly fueled body functions well, rocks the exercise, and happily sheds fat.
Hope that helps - good luck!0
